DIY | Ice Cube Tray Jewelry Organizer

12:56 PM Elle 27 Comments

It was like a spur-of-the-moment idea when I decided to make this jewelry organizer. I just saw a piece of  used ribbon in our home and I suddenly thought of using this as an accent to whatever material that I can find. Then I remembered that we have an ice cube tray that is no longer in use. And from then, I started to get a little bit crafty on that day. The process is easy and there are only few materials to be used.

Want to know how it goes and wondering about the final look? Let's start this activity! :)

Things you'll need:
1. Old ice cube tray
2. Used ribbon / any strip of cloth
3. Glue
4. Scissors

Moringa-O2 Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion

¡Hola, damas! Finally, I'll be able to give a review about this product that  I bought over a month ago. I was blog hopping when I discovered this product; and, having earned positive reviews, I got curious (especially with its smell) with this lotion and knew that I've got to try this as well.

I think most of us aware that malunggay is beneficial to our health. In fact, many products are being introduced with malunggay as its prime ingredient such as tea and food supplement. It is also being incorporated in some noodles, breads, chips and other food products. And now, with continuous innovation, malunggay is also being incorporated to beauty products like this Moringa-O2 Malunggay Herbal Moisturizing Lotion.

A Bonne Spa Yogurt Salt

What's up ladies? As I've mentioned in my previous post, I'll be back with a product review. Here it is! This time it will be about a body scrub which is the A Bonne Spa Yogurt Salt. I'm a late bloomer when it comes to skin care and beauty products and it's only now that I'm getting aware of the different products available. That is also why I'm reading more blogs not only  to discover new products but to know which product really does the job.

I've known this brand years ago through my high school friend who have tried one of its products. By that time, I wasn't still paying attention to the products I'm using nor to the products that I should try. Until one day, I got curious about this salt scrub and bought it on the supermarket.

The Body Shop Mango Shower Gel

8:04 PM Elle 12 Comments

Hello, ladies! I've been missing in action for a long time. But that doesn't mean that I totally neglected my blog. I just feel that I can't give you a decent post and something happened that made me on a blogging hiatus.

But, anyway, I'll be sharing with you my  brief thoughts on this shower gel from The Body Shop. This one comes in a mango scent which smells so good. It's also the time of the year when the store offers items on sale which is perfect for gift giving.

First off, I really like the sweet smell of ripe mangoes from this shower gel. I once thought of tasting it afterwards but I'd rather not because it's meant for bathing.  I also like how it leaves my skin smooth after bathing keeping a tinge of its sweet scent behind, but the scent doesn't linger on my skin that long. I'm not really a fan of shower gels but giving this one a try is not a bad thing at all.

So, I guess, that's it for now. I'll be back with a product review soon and will try to give more updates on my blog.

How was your weekend, ladies?

Well, I went to Watsons last week and used the GCs that my sister gave me and here are the items I bought.

Moringa-O2 Herbal Moisturizing Lotion - Yay! I'm excited to try this one after reading good reviews about it. It really smells like green tea. Will post a review about this soon.

L'Oreal Deep Repairing Mask - I've tried the other variant of hair mask from L'Oreal and this time I'll try this one to know if it has a better or just the same effect on my hair.

iWhite Nose Pack - I'm not impressed from the first time I used this product but I'm willing to give it a second try. I'm hoping to see better result this time.

A Bonne Spa Yogurt Salt - I like using this body scrub. It will leave your skin smooth and well exfoliated. Plus it's very affordable.

Letter To Your Future Self

8:10 PM Elle 10 Comments

If you will write a letter to yourself, and read it in the future, what would you say?

I'm listening to my favorite radio show this morning when one of the jocks mentioned that he received an e-mail containing the letter that he wrote for himself five years ago. What, is that possible? Yes, it's possible! You can write a letter to yourself and read it after a year or two. You can do this by visiting http://www.futureme.org/

(Google photo)

What is this all about?
FutureMe.org is based on the principle that memories are less accurate than e-mails. And we strive for accuracy.

See, usually, it's the future that will reflect back on the present. We here at FutureMe think it's fun to flip that all around.

So send your future self some words of inspiration. Or maybe give 'em swift kick in the pants. Or just share some thoughts on where you'll or what you'll be up to in a year, three years...more? And then we'll do some time travel magic and deliver the letter to you. FutureYou, that is.

What's interesting is you can also read anonymous letters and make your letter be viewed publicly. But don't worry, you'll still have your privacy because your e-mail address won't show up on your letter if you'll decide to make it public.

(Google photo)

You may not be living the life that you want right now, you may have fears on chasing your dreams, you maybe full of uncertainty. Your life may still be a work in progress and you want to see a better version of yourself. Or you may think that who you are now, what you have, where you are and who you with, is something that you still want your future holds.

In whatever situation you are in right now, I know that in the future this memory can make you cry or smile knowing that you've surpassed that unwanted phase in your life or you've experienced more great things that are beyond what you can think of.

Hello, sissies! It's been raining hard this week, I hope you're safe and sound. I miss seeing the sun and feel the scorching heat it brings.

I'll share with you today the perfume that I bought from Scent Station, it is also from the same company that makes Zen Zest. I just discovered Scent Station last year and what captured me is the name of their perfumes which is the same of those high-end brands.

I purchased their impression of D&G Light Blue because this scent is so refreshing to smell.

Supermarket Haul under Php 100

7:36 PM Elle 0 Comments

How far can your 100 pesos go? For some, it won't be enough to buy their favorite frappe or watch the film they've been waiting for. But, if you're a little bit thrifty, there are still things that you can buy with a hundred box, just don't set your expectations high.

I've been to the supermarket yesterday to buy some stuff and I only have 100 pesos in my pocket. And I brought home five items, I only bought four but the other item came for free. These are the items:

  • Sanicare Cotton Buds (Php 10.50/108 Tips) - I find these cotton buds to have the same quality as Babyflo and it's cheaper.
  • Hy-Fresh Refreshing Wipes (Free) - this was attached to the feminine pads and it's for free. It's ideal for travelling and it contains no alcohol. I think it only has one or two wipes inside.
  • Charmee Feminine Pads (Php 18.50/8 Pads) - I'm using this alternatively with another feminine pads on my light flow days because it's super absorbent and it's reliable to use.
  • Dove Pink Beauty Bar (Php 44.75/100g) - I started using Dove two years ago in washing my face after having chicken pox because it's mild and we know that it's made of 1/4 moisturizing milk so it won't make our skin dry.
  • Pond's Clear Solutions Anti-Bacterial Facial Scrub (Php 14.75/3x6g) - this is what I'm using two to three times a week to exfoliate my skin. I can also use this more often when I'm wearing make-up as it provides gentle exfoliation.

The total of these items is only Php 88.50. I still saved Php 11.50! :)

Veet Cold Wax Strips

I always envy ladies who are born with beautiful and not-so-hairy legs because they don't have to shave, wax or maybe try IPL which is too expensive.

I'm one of those not-so-blessed ladies who happen to have hairy legs. I started shaving my legs when I was in college using a shaving cream and I'm okay with the result. It will only take you few minutes to shave both legs. But the effect will only last for three or more days and you'll see that the hair is starting to grow again. It feels a little itchy when the hair is starting to grow on your legs which can make you feel uncomfortable. That made me switch to waxing. Up to now I'm using this Veet EasyGrip Read-to-Use Wac Strips with Aloe Vera and Lotus Flower Fragrance for Dry Skin.

Review: PanOxyl 4% Cream

8:10 PM Elle 4 Comments

Pimples occur when too much oil clogs our pores and get infected by bacteria. It can worsen if you're having too much stress or if you're using a cosmetic that doesn't suit your skin. That's why it is always advisable to wash your face twice daily and know the products that's good for your skin.

But, what if you wake up and there's a sight of zit on your face? Especially a big one that hurts.

Just like what I had four days ago. You can almost see that there's a pus in it.

I'm glad that we have benzoyl peroxide PanOxyl at home. But this one's new because it's not the gel type that they used to sell, it's now the PanOxyl Cream. According to the pharmacist, the PanOxyl Gel was already discontinued.

I like how the manufacturing date and expiration date can also be seen at the back of this tube just in case you lost the box.

Review: Garnier BB Eye Roll-on

8:41 PM Elle 12 Comments

Let's admit that no matter how strict our beauty regimen is, there will still be a time where zits appear unexpectedly and dark under eye cirlcles are obvious. It's a good thing that Garnier has products that can address our dilemma. There is the Pure Active Pimple Roll-on that dries out pimples and the BB Eye Roll-on that instantly hides under eye imperfection and gives you a fresh look.

Thanks to my sister who purchased the Garnier BB Eye Roll-on. She was supposed to repurchase the Garnier Brightening Eye Roll-on but I saw the BB Eye Roll-on product online and I thought it functions the same as the Brightening Eye Roll-on so I told her to try it this time. When she came home, I inspect the product and that's the only time I noticed that it's like a concealer. Though she bought the wrong one, the good news is, she bought it on sale. That time it was a buy one take one and she gave the other one to me.

Review: Ever Bilena Extreme Lipstick

8:12 PM Elle 5 Comments

Hello, ladies! It's a weekday again! Time to get up early and be smitten by the morning rush to school or work. Do you still have enough time to put a little make-up on before leaving the house? Even if we have a make-up haul, we should know at least what is our go-to product especially when we are running late. Mine would be a foundation, for my oily skin and a lipstick, for my pale lips.

Did you know that the first make-up I had was a lipstick? I had it when I was 14 or 15 when my mom gave me. Since then, it became a staple in my kikay kit. The current lipstick that I'm using is from the Ever Bilena Extreme Lipstick line.

Toilet Paper Roll Speaker

8:44 PM Elle 4 Comments

I found this craft online and decided to make one at home. Who would have thought that we can still repurpose this stuff instead of throwing it away? There are only few things that we'll be needing, but I've decided to be a little bit tedious on this one. I'll decoupage the outer part to give it a different look.

Things we'll need:
  • Toilet paper roll
  • Cutter
  • Pencil (or any marker)
  • Ruler
  • Push pins or paper clamp

For the decoupage:
  • Glue
  • Water
  • Brush or sponge
  • Torn pieces of newspaper
  • Masking tape

How to do it:

Measure the length and thickness of your mobile phone and mark the toilet paper roll.

(Photo grabbed online)

Cut according to the mark.

Review: Color Trends Nail Polish

I know some of you ladies are painting your nails with popping colors and even trying out different nail arts. Isn't it just like a happy pill when we see our nails done in such a beautiful way? From nude, matte, metallic and neon, we just love putting on different styles and show our creative side.

My sister went to Watsons last month and she found this new brand of nail polish on the shelf. It's the Color Trends Nail Polish. This product is only Php 19.75 for this 11 ml bottle. Quite a steal, huh?

Review: Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil

12:10 PM Style and Glow 9 Comments

I've seen a lot of good online reviews about this product and some of them consider it as their HG. It is not your usual target whitening product that comes in a form of a cream or soap. Hence, it is made of sunflower oil. Some of you may not like the idea of putting an oil into parts of your body especially on your face, but this one claims that it is a miracle bottle. Sunflower oil is known for its moisturizing properties and it also contains vitamins A, C, D and E which makes it good for skin application.

Here's a list of what it can do to your skin:
1. Helps soften and lighten underarms 2. Helps lighten dark spots & pimple marks 3. Under eye moisturizer 4. Helps prevent & diminish the appearance of stretch marks 5. Helps lighten dark under eye circles 6. Softens feet soles, knees & elbows 7. Removes stubborn makeup 8. Overall body moisturizer 9. Helps diminish fine lines around the eyes 10. Helps soften cuticles and dry skin 11. Makes skin glow and helps keep it youthful 12. Helps relax tired, puffy eyes 13. Helps relieve itch & redness caused by insect bites 14. Nourishes & conditions eyelashes 15. Helps lighten dark lips 16. Adds shine to dull hair 17. Helps ease dry & itchy scalp 18. Helps improve skin condition after sunburn 19. Smoothens dry, rough skin from shaving  20. Helps calm skin & ease rashes 21. Helps relieve symptoms of skin infections 22. Helps hydrate dry patches on face 23. Helps lighten lesions and scars

So many benefits, right? That's why I've decided to give it a try and see if it really works. I've been using this for two months now and I'm applying it on my face and on my ankle joint once a day.

I admit that I have a lousy skin care regimen and if I won’t be wearing a makeup, I wouldn’t apply a toner or a moisturizer either. But now I’m starting to follow the basic skin care routine which is to cleanse, tone and moisturize. I was at the mall when I chanced upon this product at The Landmark, Trinoma’s skin care section.
